X86 Emulator For Powerpc Mac
X86 Emulator For Powerpc Software For Macintosh
SheepShaver is not perfect (it cannot run MacOS 9.1 or 9.2), but enables users to run the vast majority of PPC software for Macintosh on their PC, which is all things considered, extraordinary, especially back in the year 1998.It already contains a compatible ROM file (MacOSROM.rom), a ready 250MB disk image on which Mac OS 9.0.4 is already fully installed (as well as an optional empty 30GB, yes 30 gigabytes, disk image to accomodate heavy disk space use). Please note that the 250MB base image is not intended for users to install more software. If you intend to install software in your SheepShaver VM, then you will need to expand that blank 30GB file and move your Mac OS 9.0.4 installation to it.
This happens with SheepShaver, its not 100 stable and sometimes extensions loading while the virtual Mac OS is booting can crash SheepShaver, notably the Virex antivirus extension.
Shut down SheepShaver if its running, then launch the SheepShaverGUI and under the MemoryMisc tab, select that Old World Mac ROM file, then start SheepShaver and it should boot Mac OS 8.1 successfully.
Keyboard shortcut for standard deviation on mac for wordUsing this CPU, the client will run about 500 times slower than the host.
As of version 0.4 the generic CPU emulation runs well even on big-endian and 64 bit platforms.
A very fast CPU for x86 systems that translates PowerPC instructions into x86 instructions on-demand.
By caching these translations, a lot of speed is gained.Using this CPU, the client will run about 15 times slower than the host.
You can attach IDE-harddisk(s) andor IDE-CDROM(s) by specifying files (or devices for UNX) from your host machine.
Its ugly and contains a lot of hacks but it allows to boot Yaboot and BootX from HFSHFS partitions.
